Portugal Beat Norway 2-1 as João Félix and Gonçalo Ramos Secure Nations League Victory
Portugal claimed their second straight UEFA Nations League win after goals from João Félix and Gonçalo Ramos overcame Erling Haaland’s equalizer.
Portugal continued their strong start to the UEFA Nations League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Norway on Sunday. The team, coached by Jorge Jesus, produced another impressive performance, responding quickly after conceding an equalizer to secure all three points.
The visitors controlled much of the opening stages and were rewarded in the 17th minute. João Félix finished confidently after being picked out by Pedro Neto, giving Portugal an early lead.
Norway responded well and created several dangerous opportunities before halftime. Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard tested Portugal’s defense, but goalkeeper Diogo Costa produced a series of important saves to preserve his side’s advantage.
Haaland Levels Before Ramos Delivers the Winner
The hosts found their breakthrough shortly after the restart. In the 51st minute, Erling Haaland capitalized on an opportunity inside the penalty area to bring Norway level and reignite the contest.
Portugal wasted little time responding. Just three minutes later, Gonçalo Ramos took advantage of a defensive mistake to restore Portugal’s lead with a composed finish.
Ramos thought he had scored a second goal later in the match, but the effort was ruled out following a VAR review for offside.
